Winter wedding flower trends for 2021

There is something quite magical and whimsical about Winter weddings; with the crisp days bringing a sprinkle of sparkling snow and dark nights lit up by glowing candles.

Here at Millers Floral Design in Oldham we have seen many of our happy brides & grooms tie the knot in the Winter months. We are so lucky to be surrounded by stunning wedding venues throughout the North East region which look fabulous at any time of year, but especially so during the colder months, and our team have so much fun creating bespoke wedding flowers for them!

We take a look at the best wedding flower trends heading our way for Winter Weddings in 2021/2022 and how you can make them work for your special day.

Perfect Pampas Grass

We totally adore this wedding flower trend – mixing pampas grass with fresh blooms for a modern and luxurious bridal bouquet. Here is a peek at wedding flowers Millers Floral Design created recently, just look how fab pampas grass looks against the pop of pink astilbe, creamy roses and lush eucalyptus .... #want

Romantic Candlelight

With the shorter days in Winter months, there is more time to set the scene with romantic candles to light up the dark nights - yay! Your wedding venue may have restrictions on using flames in certain areas, but Millers have tons of decorative ideas up our sleeves such as wedding lanterns, twinkling fairy lights and battery operated candles for a stress free day. Candles look absolutely gorgeous as table centres mixed with sweet vases of complimenting flowers such as gyp, or lining the aisle of your church for a candle lit walk down to the alter.

Modern Monochrome Bouquets

The timeless classic, all white bridal bouquets are a must have for winter weddings this year. This was a beautiful bespoke bridal bouquet our wedding florists created recently, with seasonal blooms in crisp whites and touch of greenery - our bride adored it!

For a sophisticated with a twist of modern, Millers expert wedding florists recommend using flowers such as white roses, stephanotis, anemone and lisianthus with a hint of silvery foliage such as eucalyptus or dusty miller for texture.

Back to Nature

For winter weddings in 2021 we are seeing the big trend of colour combinations inspired by nature for the wedding theme - think forest greens, rustic wood, dried berries, pine cones and crisp white blooms. To take this wedding trend to the next level, mix in a hint of marble or copper for a really luxurious style.

Rainbow Bouquets

The complete opposite to monochrome, rainbow wedding flowers for winter will also be a huge hit with couples getting hitched. Bold and beautiful colours pop out against the white brides dress, so the flowers make a big statement on your wedding day. We love mixing seasonal blooms in rainbow shades of emerald green, gold, blue sapphire, lilac and velvet burgundy to achieve this wedding look.
